The Cats Meow Thrift Store opened in October, 2005. The thrift store
operates on an all-volunteer basis and raises money to support the
spay/neuter
efforts of Pets of MF, Inc. 100% of our profits support spay/neuter efforts
for cats (and a few dogs) in Umatilla and Walla Walla Counties. Most items
for sale at the thrift store were donated, though some of the higher priced
items are on consignment. The regular volunteers at The Cats Meow currently
are: Paula Babb, Director (Fridays and Sundays), and Lyla Lampson (Wednesday).
Donations of antiques & collectibles, videos, books, furniture, new
or used doors, lighting, cabinets, vanities, home décor, and tools
all sell well. Your donations are generally deductible as a charitable donation
for tax purposes. Donations are accepted during regular store hours. Store
volunteers are generally available and happy to help unload your donations.
The Cats Meow volunteer will accept any items they feel are saleable, except
for the following. Items we generally DO NOT accept include: large appliances
unless in excellent working condition, air conditioners, older and/or non-functioning
TVs, computers and monitors, and toxic materials such as pesticides. Please
check with a CATS MEOW volunteer before delivering your donations if you
are in question. We sincerely thank you for donating to The Cats Meow.
With money from the sale or your donations we help reduce the pet
overpopulation problem quickly through spay/neuter and Trap-neuter-return.
Like you, we long to see all healthy lost or no-longer-wanted pets find
good, happy homes. Even if you don't care for cats, you can still share
our desire to decrease the number unwanted cats!
