Pets of Milton-Freewater, Inc. is dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation primarily through spay/neuter and education. We also work to find homes for the stray cats and kittens tamed from feral cats from our very active Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program for feral and barn cats.

We routinely offer the following services:

  • Low-income spay/neuter vouchers available through
The Cats Meow Thrift Store, as funds are available
  • Spay/neuter assistance for feral and barn cats in trap-neuter-return program, limited by funds available
  • Pet adoption center in The Cats Meow Thrift Store, for cat and kitten adoptions. All cats adopted out are spayed/neutered and vaccinated. (need photo of pet adoption center here)

In May 2007 we received a $30,000 grant from the "Ed Cauduro Advised Charitable Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation" for TNR in Helix ($7,000) and spay/neuter of cats and dogs on the Umatilla Tribal Reservation ($23,000).

Also in May, Wildhorse Foundation awarded Pets of MF a $5,000 grant for TNR of cats on the Umatilla Tribal Reservation.

In June we received a $5,000 grant from the Handsel Foundation to complete spay/neuter efforts in Operation Milton-Freewater Trailer Parks.

Also we expect the Neuter Scooter will be back around July 24-27 in Mission, Oregon and hopefully in Hermiston, Oregon so check the Neuter Scooter Webpage for updates and to make your appointment for low-cost spay/neuter for cats.
